Episode 7
Every morning, Detective Eric Adams followed the same routine. He woke up, strapped on his bulletproof vest, his badge, and took to the streets to protect the people of New York City. He did it for twenty years—until one morning he got up, looked at his alarm clock, and realized that he couldn't see the numbers.
His wife drove him to the hospital where testing would reveal that he was now partially blind. Doctors found permanent nerve damage in his hands and feet, and when they checked his blood sugar, it was off the charts. The diagnosis was unmistakable—Type 2 diabetes.
Eric’s physician told him to accept reality— that he was genetically predisposed, and that his main option was a lifetime of medication. But Eric wasn’t having it.
As a detective, Eric knew how to run an investigation and so he decided to do some research of his own. He would eventually realize that his problem wasn't his DNA, it was his dinner. Quite literally the foods he was eating were the cause of his condition.
You see, it turns out the cause of type 2 diabetes isn’t eating too much sugar or too many carbs. It's actually caused by something so simple that once Eric figured it out, everything changed.
After just three weeks on his new diet, Eric’s eyesight returned. He lost weight, he had more energy, and the "permanent" nerve damage in his hands and feet were gone. This story gets even crazier.
After just three months on his diet, Eric went back to see his doctor. He rechecked Eric’s labs and couldn't believe it. Eric’s HbA1c went from 17 down to 5. His blood sugar was normal. His diabetes was gone.
There was no magic pill, no insulin, and no lifelong prescription. His only medicine was food. Eric reversed his diabetes and today I get to share his story and strategy with you.
In Act One, I break down the diet Eric used to reverse his diabetes and explore the science behind it—revealing why this simple approach can have powerful results.
In Act Two, I’ll walk you through a nutrition plan tailored to your unique tastes, preferences, and lifestyle—one you can start using today to get your nutrition right where it needs to be.
Whether you’re looking for ways to better manage your sugar or if your numbers are good and you simply want to keep ‘em that way, today’s episode is for you.
